Probably only interesting to me

Tom a'Chòinich

A few of us hardy fools braved the inclement Scottish weather today to climb Tom a’Chòinich, in Glen Affric, west of Inverness. It was pretty misty throughout, so no spectacular photos, or even photos of the complete mountain.

Some of the hill’s 1112m showing through the mist/cloud from Gleann nam Fiadh.

We followed the track up Gleann nam Fiadh from the road until we crossed the Allt Toll Easa, then proceded to follow the path up the shoulder of the mountain then following the ridge from the south east (on the right in the photo above) to the summit hidden in the clouds.

Proceding up into the clouds…

From the summit we dropped down WNW to Bealach Toll Easa, and then followed the Allt Toll Easa back down off the mountain…

Finally, we followed the glen back to the public road, and our transport.

(apologies for the JPEG artifacts in these pictures, grey mist compresses in a very lossy manner)
